Learn about London Eye

In 2000, the London Eye was known as the millennium Wheel. The London Eye is the dream of David Marks and his wife Julia Barfield. Today London Eye is the UK’s most popular place for visitor attractions.  The Eye stand is 135 meters high on the south bank between waterloo and Westminster bridges. Today London Eye is under the ownership of the London Eye company.

The Eye is by far the tallest structure of its kind in the European Union. The wheel has 32 passenger carts and they are all sealed shut from the outside. The wheel and capsules combined weigh at total of 2,100 tones.  Each capsule has bench seats and capsule weighs 10 tones. It takes 30 minutes to complete a revolution and it provided rides to over 3 million people every year. It can carry 800 people on every revolution.

The London Eye opens from 10 an seven days a week and individual ticket prices are reduced by 10 percent if bought online.
